The Every Child Matters Youth Conference will take place inside the Edmonton Youth and Conference Centre from April 10-14.
The youth conference will feature 28 workshops, a feast and a youth Pow Wow that will see five traditional drum groups, with a payment of tobacco from the youth with registration.
Gordon Gladue, Chairman and founder of the Urban Rez Culture Society says that the youth will see a conference they have never seen before, along with teaching them the traditional use of the tobacco, along with a feast for the youth and Elders.
Gladue speaks on what the youth that will be attending can expect at this year’s conference at the Edmonton Inn.
Gladue says the youth will take away the teachings and knowledge from the conference they can use within their families and their communities.
